Problems with this article
editI am working with the person who started this entry to fix it to meet Wikipedia format. She could no longer continue working on it and asked the subject to clarify information initially posted. talk: murph5678, 29 September 2009
This article has a lot of problems. It's rife with WP:PEACOCK terms; is written like a resume; and has way too many photos. I suspect we have a WP:COI issue here, too
As non-exhaustive examples of peacock terms, we have (these are quotes):
- mastered numerous forms of dance
- Kmieć began making up dances as soon as he could walk
- the acclaim of his stage productions
- accomplished photographer and photo journalist
There's more, I'm just randomly picking them.
As far as the resume is concerned, nearly the entire article is written as a resume form: professional accomplishments (choreography and performance history); education; professional affiliations; teaching; publications. I'm not talking about the section names themselves (although there is that), but the entire structure. Even if this is not sourced from looking at a resume, it looks like it is, and that's the point of WP:RESUME.
And the photos! 23 photos, in an article on a relatively obscure choreographer. "Wikipedia is not an image repository." WP:IG. I don't know of any on-point guidelines here (and would welcome being pointed to one), but the general idea of including images in an article is to increase the reader's understanding of the text, which is the main driver. I think two or three images would be about right for a subject of this level of notability: the main image in the infobox, and one or two depicting the dance.
I also suspect that the main editor here has a conflict of interest, WP:COI. The article is on Staś Kmieć from Lublin, Poland. The primary editor is Lublinstas (talk · contribs), a WP:SPA account that appears to be limiting his activities to this article. If Lublinstas is not Stas from Lublin, I suspect he is someone closely connected to him. TJRC (talk) 22:14, 25 September 2009 (UTC)
