Can no one add a photo of the church itself, instead of a load of Victorian graves that could be anywhere? Johnbod (talk) 00:26, 29 June 2009 (UTC)Reply

Oldest Church in the English Speaking World?

edit

This statement has so many problems, I don't even know where to begin. First, it's unverifiable as to whether it's the "oldest church in the English speaking world." There are older church sites within Britain that could compete for that claim. Second, people didn't speak English when it was founded! They spoke various Brythonic languages, or Latin, or some form of Anglo-Saxon, or Old English, or Middle English, but they didn't speak English as we know it, so it's silly to list that right in the title as it's claim to fame. And There are much older Christian sites in England, for example, Faversham Stone Chapel which dates to Roman times, so unless anyone has objections, I'm going to change this. Thanks for your expression of misunderstanding my unfortunately ambiguous post that allowed you to do so, which inspires me to clarify and hopefully prevent the wide breadth of your misconceptions of what I communicated. But otherwise, it was not good of you to revert to an earlier version in a way that erased different elements of my writing in other parts of the article to which you expressed no objection, thus blithely throwing out baby with bathwater. So I will undo your edit and then reword the section you took in the worst way that you could. Olorin3k (talk) 02:20, 20 September 2014 (UTC)Reply

I'm sorry, I think I was too hasty in my revert, and didn't scroll down to see all of the other changes that had been made. Thankyou for rewording your additions to the opening blurb! Florimell1919 (talk) 17:18, 22 September 2014 (UTC)Reply
