History and location

• "A box placed underneath the stone contained a bible ...". I'm not much on the religion stuff, but isn't "bible" usually capitalised?
  • Yes...

• "... and an example of every British coin from 1854". I had to read that twice before I realised it was every British coin in circulation in 1854, and then I wondered what it really meant. From 1854 until when?
  • Reworded to "an example of every British coin minted in that year" (source says "a glass bottle containing examples of all the coins of the realm for that year".

• "As of September 2011, the priest in charge is H. V. Jones." That kind of detail always bothers me: it's unlikely to be kept up to date, and what makes Jones more worthy of mention than the priests who preceded him, who are not mentioned?
  • Hmm, I can see your point. {{infobox church}} has a whole series of parameters for people of absolutely minor importance (including, Lord help us, the student intern) but I think that naming the current person in charge of the place isn't unreasonable. (As for past clergy, I did carry out my customary check in the Dictionary of Welsh Biography for former worthies attached to the parish, but didn't find any, otherwise I would have added some (as at St Beuno's Church, Trefdraeth, my next GAN)). A previous GA review on one of the others in the series suggested putting "as of" dates in such sentences, so that older statements can be checked for accuracy, which is perhaps better than nothing. I am trying to look round the church articles every so often when I hear of a priest arriving or, more often, departing. The way that Anglesey is going at ,the moment it wouldn't be far wrong to say of most of the churches "As of 2011, hardly anybody comes to this historic church that needs lots of money for repairs and the vicar either retired last year or is retiring next year"... </sigh>
