The latest Pevsner guide to the City of London is under the impression (though not absolutely certain) that the design of St. Benet's is entirely by Robert Hooke. Is there any strong evidence for it being by Wren, as this article claims? The thumbnail to the right is of a church by Hooke stylistically so similar to St. Benet's as to make a case for Hooke as the architect. HAM 17:04, 8 April 2006 (UTC)Reply
This guide on the webpage of the White Lion Society says it is by Wren. The guide was written by The Late Reverend Canon Alfred Pryse-Hawkins while he was vicar of St Benet. I'm not sure what to say since there are two sources that say opposite things on the subject. Also, the Welsh wikipedia article notes "Syr Christopher Wren," and it is a Welsh church, so it seems like they'd know.--64.150.0.1 14:23, 15 September 2006 (UTC)Reply
