Did the parish remain part of the diocese of Hereford or was it transferred to it? In almost all (all ?) cases the border parishes were originally in Welsh dioceses.Ntmr (talk) 00:23, 17 June 2021 (UTC)Reply

Ignore that question. My attention has been brought to: Downing, S. E. (1915). "The Church in Wales Disestablishment and Disendowment Under the Welsh Church Act 1914". Project Canterbury. Retrieved 17 June 2021. and that confirms that it was previously in the Diocese of Hereford.Ntmr (talk) 10:43, 17 June 2021 (UTC)Reply

Listing designation

St Andrew's, Presteigne

St Andrew's, Norton, Presteigne

The text describes this as a Grade I listed building, and it has a Category to that effect. But Cadw records it as Grade II*, and the infobox correctly had II*. I'll make the amendment, but shout if I've missed something. KJP1 (talk) 05:49, 5 September 2024 (UTC)Reply

I'm confused. I think we, or I, have got two churches muddled up. There is:
  • 8952, Church of St Andrew, Norton, Presteigne, Grade II*
  • 8830, Church of St Andrew, Presteigne, Grade I

Has this article used the wrong Cadw identifier? KJP1 (talk) 06:02, 5 September 2024 (UTC)Reply

I've reverted myself, but I do think there is a problem. Citation 1 is to the BLBO record for Building 8952, NOT this building which is 8830. And all the stuff about Scott's restoration, including the long quote, relates to the Church of St Andrew, Norton, not to this church which was restored by Pearson, not by Scott. I'm not sure, I may have missed it but it was over 8 years ago when I created it. I was trying to focus on the Church of England church in Wales rather than the other one. Feel free to make the adjustments you feel are nessicery. The C of E God Save the King! (talk) 13:02, 5 September 2024 (UTC)Reply
No worries, amended. KJP1 (talk) 13:32, 5 September 2024 (UTC)Reply
