- These are largely not reliable sources nor are they substantive. Two of them (East Brown Cow, Inn at St. John) are entirely promotional. The only one approaching authoritative is the Maine Biz article. However, the city of Portland itself and its' residents separate the neighborhoods. Most definitive are the borders of the neighborhood associations. There is the West End Neighborhood Association and the Saint John Valley Neighborhood Association. Moreover, Greater Portland Landmarks also separates the neighborhoods in a way that is far more substantive than any of the above sources.--User:Namiba 15:11, 25 June 2024 (UTC)

- Reliable sources like the City of Portland and its residents as well as the largest non-profit focused on Portland history do not consider St. John Street to be part of the West End. The name of a business does not matter in this regard.--User:Namiba 19:37, 25 June 2024 (UTC)
