Talk:St. Barbara's Church, Kutná Hora

Cathedral? edit

Is it really Cathedral (seat of an bishop)? I do not think so. The Church is unquestionally important and well constructed church, but it is not a Cathedrall (seat of an bishop). So it is in czech naming convention, we describe it as Chrám sv. Barbory not as Katedrála sv. Barbory (there is no diocese with its centre in Kutná hora).

So I do propose to move this page to St. Barbara Church or some another name different from Cathedrall. (Chrám would be translated as Temple, but I think that in english usage it is inappropriate to use word temple in name of particular christian church - but I am not sure in it) Reo ON | +++ 17:57, 7 April 2006 (UTC)Reply

The sign at the door says " Katedrála sv. panny Barbory" and the Kutna Hora website calls it a cathedral. What do they know? As far as I understand it, cathedral is used here as the architectural design, specifically gothic cathedral, irrespective of any definitions imposed by others.
