26th June undid Edits

edit

Hi @amiago

Same edits were undone here too, so pasting the reply here too:

Thanks for the clarification. I now understand that NY Times is a valid source & NYPost isn't. However, additional sources may not be needed since the existing sources support the change intended:

1. FT (which is added a reference for those lines) has added the below lines to it's article at a later date to make it sound more neutral:

"Primavera Capital, the firm later founded by Fred Hu, has subsequently stated that he is not a member of the CCP or any other political party and was not a CCP member at the time when he was an executive at Goldman Sachs."

FT article link: https://www.ft.com/content/eac99fd9-0c30-4141-821a-45348f61c113

2. The other references added for the statement mention 'alleged' ties: The below statement in Guardian:

"DeSantis stripped four private schools of state scholarship money, alleging without evidence they had “direct ties to the Chinese Communist party”

Guardian article link: https://www.theguardian.com/us-news/2023/oct/02/ron-desantis-florida-private-schools-china-communist-party

Using the above mentioned existing reference(s), the sentence to be edited to one of the below options whichever you think is the best way to proceed:

OPTION 1: "In September 2023, Florida governor Ron DeSantis ended voucher programs for four Spring Education Group schools, citing concerns about ties to Primavera Capital Group. This was one of the measures against the Chinese Communist Party in the state of Florida. However, as per The Guardian the action taken against the four schools was without evidence."

OPTION 2: "n September 2023, Florida governor Ron DeSantis ended voucher programs for four Spring Education Group schools, citing concerns about ties to Primavera Capital Group, though as per Financial Times the firm denied having political connections with China's ruling party."

Please do let me know your comments. Thanks WorldPeace888 (talk) 02:47, 8 July 2024 (UTC)Reply

Where is the quote ascribed to the FT article actually coming from? It doesn't appear in the article itself. - Amigao (talk) 11:56, 8 July 2024 (UTC)Reply
Thanks for the reply @Amigao.
Seems the ver. of FT you are referencing is the achieved/old ver:
Old ver. link: https://archive.is/pIqRi
The newer ver. of the same story/news is where they have added the additional line after last the paragraph.
Last para being: "HSBC has separately established CCP committees in other entities it controls in China, such as within its asset management joint venture with Shanxi Trust."
New ver. link: https://www.ft.com/content/eac99fd9-0c30-4141-821a-45348f61c113 If needed will update the FT source on the page with the new ver. of the article's link.
