Talk:Spider-Man: Big Time

Scope of the article

edit

I originally started the article to only cover The Amazing Spider-Man #648-654 and then I expanded it to #648-656 because that seemed more appropriate. Technically all of the issues that have come out after #656 are still part of "Big Time," but I did not include them as I thought it would be best to limit the scope of this article (similar to the Spider-Man: Brand New Day article) so it didn't get too confusing to readers unfamiliar with the story. However, as this recent edit shows, the comic book news media does still refer to the later issues as "Big Time" issues. Obviously we can reduce the number of reprinted issues in the Wikipedia article without having to change the reference, but it did make me realize that a discussion is necessary so everyone can agree on the scope of this article to avoid future disputes. I support limiting the scope to The Amazing Spider-Man #648-656. Spidey104 20:08, 16 June 2011 (UTC)Reply

Hi, Spidey. It's always good to work with you, and I very much applaud your soliciting input. I'm probably not the best person to comment on this particular article, since I'm not a fan of fictographic entries. Without real-world discussion by creators, etc., they seem very oriented toward fans and not general-public readers. The reception section here is a good step toward real-world discussion, though if I were editing this article (which I'm afraid I probably won't be), I would follow the WP:FILM method of quoting select critics in context — giving the why behind the opinions and not simply a number rating or the like. I hope these observations help in some way. With regards, --Tenebrae (talk) 02:37, 25 June 2011 (UTC)Reply

Since there have been no dissenting opinions this article will be maintained at the scope I previously stated to keep it a concise and well-written article. Further storylines can be made into their own articles if they meet notability requirements. Spidey104 06:57, 2 July 2011 (UTC)Reply
