Merger proposals have languished for years, and I think should not be carried out, since there are so many spectral imaging articles. Better to move the introductory material from those articles into here, and link to those articles for their treatment of distinctive methods and applications of "Full", "Super", "Multi", "Hyper", "Chemical" and whatever other varieties may be separately notable.
