Errors and Omissions
editIn the "Formation" section, the current version claims that Herbert Buck proposed the formation of the SIG. "Secret War" aired on the UK Freeview channel "Yesterday" on 29th April 2011, states that Buck was appointed as head of SIG, the plan to create it already being in existence before his selection. I've added a citation needed tag in the hope that this can be clarified. Sejanus.sejanus (talk) 20:17, 3 May 2011 (UTC)
Wrong operation?
editThe article states (in the betrayal section) that SIG's 1st op was on June 2, 1942 in operation Agreement, but then gives a date for Sept 12 in the next section for a later operation called Agreement. An error I presume?1812ahill (talk) 15:35, 8 March 2012 (UTC)
- Seems the events surrounding the 'betrayal' operation are given in detail in 'The SIG: behind the lines with Jewish commandos by Martin Sugarman' p 290-293 (exerpt here [1] . But there are multiple conflicting sources. Seems about the only thing certain is the date (13-14 june) and the location Derna and Martuba airfields. No operation name is given. I'll amend.1812ahill (talk) 16:45, 8 March 2012 (UTC)
