Naming dilemma

Ship classes are named after the lead ship of the class which apparently at one time was supposed to be Fortitude. However, Spearhead (JHSV-1) is already under construction and is the lead ship of the class according to this news release. So it would seem that the class should be named Spearhead class. To add more confusion the official not to be reckoned with NVR still has the ships listed as originally planned. All of this conflicting information means this article should keep its name until we have some clarity. Brad (talk) 07:52, 25 September 2010 (UTC)

Title case

Shouldn't it remain "Joint High Speed Vessel" as that is an official designation (proper noun), unlike (say) "Foo-class battleship"? - The Bushranger _{One ping only} 16:44, 10 August 2013 (UTC)

If it were other than simply descriptive, I might agree with you. Joint high speed vessel seems not much dissimilar from other ship type descriptors.

All these ships are SWATH designs.

The distinction is significant, I'd use the term "twin hull" and avoid the word "catamaran".
