This article originally claimed that the America, when captured at Havana in 1762, was added to the British Navy under the name of HMS Moro. This is not correct. The ship which was added to the British Navy as HMS Moro in 1762 was actually the former Spanish 70-gun Aquilon. The source of this error was a misprint in William Laird Clowes History of the Royal Navy - volume 3, page 247, where the words "Renamed Moro" incorrectly appear against the America rather than against the Aquilon.
