This needs a complete re-write

It's full of inaccurate generalizations, and errors of fact. Voceditenore (talk) 12:25, 25 October 2008 (UTC)

It's much better now. Still needs work on some of the more modern Spanish works, as well as stuff on Spanish opera in the Americas. Voceditenore (talk)
Thanks. I agree. This is not an area that I specialize in though so I am not sure I feel comfortable doing it. A mention of some of the major opera houses in Spain like the Liceu and the Teatro Real might also be appropriate. Nrswanson (talk) 15:26, 25 October 2008 (UTC)
Assuming we add info about South America, is it worth moving this to Opera in Spanish per Opera in German? --Folantin (talk) 15:49, 25 October 2008 (UTC)
I'm not so sure about changing the title yet, on thinking about it. Perhaps this article should take a slightly different tack from Opera in German, especially given the relative paucity of non-zarzuela operas in Spanish. Perhaps this article should concentrate more on an overview of the history of and current state of the opera 'scene' in Spain and plus a bit about its colonial exports. Maybe it would better to see how the article develops and re-visit the naming issue? I wish we could get that nav box turned into a horizontal one so it could be put at the bottom of the page. It's (a) ugly (b) full of non-informative red links and (c) makes the placement of much better illustrations difficult. Voceditenore (talk) 11:52, 26 October 2008 (UTC)
I agree with everything you have said. Why don't we design a similar template to go at the bottom of the page.Nrswanson (talk) 12:08, 26 October 2008 (UTC)
I went ahead and created a new template and implemented it.Nrswanson (talk) 12:52, 26 October 2008 (UTC)
A great improvement, thanks! I do have some further suggestions about the template which I've made on Template talk:Spanishmusic. Best, Voceditenore (talk) 14:35, 26 October 2008 (UTC)
