What's a Census edit
I had the 1920 All-Russian census in the list because it was conducted by the new Bolshevik regime, though its coverage was limited by the civil war. It also appears as a census on the .RU Wiki, while in fact the 1923 urban census does not. I think it's valid to include both on this list, or neither, since (a) the first complete census was in 1926, and (b) there is no information (there are no articles) about most of these censuses yet, at least in the English-language pages. When I get some time, I will contribute to filling out some of the information about census content and methods. Please take a look here:

- Hi, Mack! Thanks for your interest. However, please remember this is a disambiguation page. "Soviet Census" may refer to any Census conducted in the former Soviet Union. The 1920 Census was conducted before the Soviet Union was established, hence you cannot refer to it as "Soviet" in the same way as you are referring to other Censuses on this page (although, of course, it was conducted in Soviet Russia). Unless you can show that the 1920 Census is consistently referred to as "Soviet Census" in English language academic works, I suggest you remove it from this disambiguation page. Meanwhile, I copied that entry to Russian Census (which is another disambiguation page). Of course, there should be a dedicated article about that Census; I removed the entry only because it does not fit the disambiguation scheme. - OK, I can live with that. Thanks for your response and explanation. I mainly would like (somebody) to actually write an article on the 1920 and the 1923 censuses. I've never seen them used, though I have seen all the "comprehensive" censuses in use from 1897 to 2002, and I've used pretty much all of them except 1937 (which only was published in the 1990's) for one purpose or another.Mack2 20:11, 9 August 2006 (UTC)
- You are welcome. I wish I could be that "somebody", but while I can show you a bunch of references to both 1920 and 1923 Censuses, I do not have sufficient information even for a decent stub.
