Untitled edit

I didn't realize how fast articles were assessed. I won't be back to edit this new article until after the holidays.

Re: Assessment edit

Hey bpage, I'm the fellow who redirected your article awhile back. The "assessment" generally consists of a bunch of volunteers monitoring the New pages list and requesting an admin to delete those which violate wikipedia policy (attack pages, unremarkable bands, etc). I redirected your page because it was clearly notable though based on the species name I was incorrect to do so - the NewPages folks do make mistakes. Anyway, it's a great first article, and in the future if you're creating a new article and intend to leave it for awhile, it's best to often put in the summary something like "under construction - will flesh out over the next few days - please do not delete" - that will usually prevent people from CSDing it unless it violates some pertinent policy (attack page, page about a non-notable myspace band, etc.) It's looking great though, so best of luck! Thank you so very much for communicating with me. I was beginning to think all of WIKIpedia was run by bots, but you appear to be a real live person. I would be interested in getting directed to work on some projects of high importance that may only be stubs. Can you help me find these kind of things? (biology related)

B-Class criteria checklist edit

The following checklist is posted with the intent of determining whether this article meets the six B-Class criteria:

References

Is the article is suitably referenced, with inline citations? Does it have has reliable sources, and any important or controversial material which is likely to be challenged?

Scope

Does the article reasonably cover the topic, and does not contain obvious omissions or inaccuracies? Does it contain a large proportion of the material necessary for an A-Class article, although some sections may need expansion, and some less important topics may be missing?

Layout and organization

Does the article has a defined structure? Is the content organized into groups of related material, including a lead section and all the sections that can reasonably be included in an article of its kind?

Well written

Is the article reasonably well-written? Does the prose contain no major grammatical errors and flows sensibly?

Supporting materials

Does the article contain supporting materials where appropriate? Illustrations? Diagrams? Infobox?

Understandable

Does the article present its content in an appropriately understandable way? Is it is written with as broad an audience in mind as possible? Does the article incorrectly assume unnecessary technical background OR are technical terms explained or avoided where possible.

Input anyone?
