IMDb

Some of the IMDb information on Southland Tales is inaccurate, so please don't revert my edits solely based on what you read there. Thanks. : 62.252.192.12 12:51, 24 Apr 2005 (UTC)

Start Date

Thought you people would like to know that apparently we should be seeing the first of the Southland Tales books in may... :D http://brettweldele.blogspot.com/2006/01/remix-number-2.html James (not zepfram) 195.224.75.71 15:03, 20 February 2006 (UTC)

Also just found the following... :) http://au.movies.yahoo.com/Southland+Tales/movie/15434/ - Release date = 9/11/06 http://www.launchingfilms.com/cgi-bin/releases.pl?type=current&sort=film&show=S - Release Date = 15/09/06

I would guess that its goin to be out in september if the books start coming out at the end of may, as the books are meant to be released monthly and there are three of them!! James 195.224.75.71 17:25, 8 March 2006 (UTC)

Timberlake

Woa, Timberlake? Not in a "OMG T3H UNC00L" way, since on a purely personal way, it seems brilliantly weird, but... do we have any sources for this? I can't see anything on the Richard Kelly fan site, and the fact seems weird enough... Anyone have anything? Zeppocity 10:05, 1 September 2005 (UTC)

Yeah, it's confirmed. There are photos of him on the set/in costume here. Trickster721 09:25, 4 October 2005 (UTC)

Poster

Anyone else notice the image in the center of the poster looks exactly like the U.S. presidential election of 2004 cartograms? jareha 00:50, 12 February 2006 (UTC)

Hot damn, that's really cool! 24.20.131.214 16:12, 6 April 2006 (UTC)

Hype

Is it just me, or is there next to no publicity promoting this film? It's eerie. It has an all-star cast but I haven't seen an ad or a news report or... anything. I have been busy studying for my exams so I don't have time to watch much TV but still... --Onias 22:36, 12 May 2006 (UTC)

Cannes

An previous edit stated that the Foreign press were more favourable to the movie's showing at this festive - I speak English, french and some spanish. I cannot find any evidence of this from checking out what the major papers in each of those countries have been saying. This, from the Observer, is typical of the english response -

"Richard Kelly's Southland Tales was so bad it made me wonder if he'd ever met a human being. After just 10 minutes of this sprawling, plotless, post-apocalyptic farrago you get that sinking feeling that this may be one of the worst films ever presented in competition."

This from the independent -

"Richard Kelly's sprawlingly incoherent apocalyptic epic Southland Tales has been the festival's chief casualty and few expect it to achieve the cult success of Kelly's first film, Donnie Darko."

If there is evidence of this Favourable foreign press - I am unable to find it! Anyone ?

Website

It seems the website is no longer up. This does not seem like a good sign. I didn't edit the page because I'm not sure how temporary this situation will be. 24.13.252.122 16:32, 18 June 2007 (UTC)

Never mind, it's back. 24.13.252.122 19:50, 27 June 2007 (UTC)

Fair use rationale for Image:Southland tales.jpg

Image:Southland tales.jpg is being used on this article. I notice the image page specifies that the image is being used under fair use but there is no explanation or rationale as to why its use in this Wikipedia article constitutes fair use. In addition to the boilerplate fair use template, you must also write out on the image description page a specific explanation or rationale for why using this image in each article is consistent with fair use.

Please go to the image description page and edit it to include a fair use rationale. Using one of the templates at Wikipedia:Fair use rationale guideline is an easy way to insure that your image is in compliance with Wikipedia policy, but remember that you must complete the template. Do not simply insert a blank template on an image page.

If there is other other fair use media, consider checking that you have specified the fair use rationale on the other images used on this page. Note that any fair use images uploaded after 4 May, 2006, and lacking such an explanation will be deleted one week after they have been uploaded, as described on criteria for speedy deletion. If you have any questions please ask them at the Media copyright questions page. Thank you.BetacommandBot 08:36, 6 June 2007 (UTC)
