Could someone with knowledge of the subject include information on what it eats? I followed the sources and did not find anything. Captainktainer * Talk 15:59, 17 July 2006 (UTC)Reply

Though it already said arthropods, I clarified it a bit with direct examples. -Dawson 16:10, 17 July 2006 (UTC)Reply

Genus?

edit

Should a note be made on the page regarding the designations used in the taxonomy of leopard frogs? Since both Rana and Lithobates have been used to indicate the genus of this frog, a quick notation would be helpful to avoid confusion. For example, the Wikipedia article "Leopard Frog" uses only Rana and discounts Lithobates, but links to this page using the Lithobates designation. (The citations following the name L. sphenocephala in the first paragraph redirect to abstracts of scholarly articles. The articles, which may explain the differences in naming, cannot be accessed without membership or a purchase.)

  • edited to add* I apologize for not noticing the "Synonyms" section on the sidebar, some of which use Rana as the genus. However, the Rana sphenocephala designation (included in resources such as those cited in the "References" section) is not listed as a synonym.
