Map edit

A map of the South Stream would be nice... KNewman (talk) 18:42, 16 January 2009 (UTC)Reply

It is hard to add a map if even the exact route is not clear yet. Beagel (talk) 19:14, 16 January 2009 (UTC)Reply

Everybody knows South Stream is just a gambit of Russian imperialism to suppress Europe's energy independence. U can't fool us, mr. Putin. —Preceding unsigned comment added by 91.200.122.230 (talk) 12:03, 28 January 2009 (UTC) Oh, and by the way, Russia needs to learn how to be a democracy if it wants to gains anyone's support by means other than force. —Preceding unsigned comment added by 91.200.122.230 (talk) 12:19, 28 January 2009 (UTC)Reply

The map should be updated to reflect the recent agreement to route it through Slovenia. The official map is here. Beagel (talk) 21:30, 14 November 2009 (UTC)Reply

Factual information change on South Stream edit

Dear editor,

There is some factual information on the page that is incorrect. For example:

South Stream (Russian: Южный Поток, Bulgarian: Южен поток, Serbian/ Slovene: Južni tok, Jужни ток, Hungarian: Déli Áramlat) is a gas pipeline to transport Russian natural gas through the Black Sea to Bulgaria and further to Greece, Italy and Austria.

The correct facts are: It transport gas through the Black Sea to Bulgaria and further to Serbia, Hungary and Slovenia.

In General information section:

The official name of the Company is South Stream Transport B.V.

In Route section:

The length of the Offshore pipeline is 931 km. The Board and the management team has changed.

There many other factual information that is not correct anymore, please let me know if I could provide you with the correct data.

Thank you. Best regards, Katerina Chursina Thomas kat.chursinathomas@south-stream-transport.com Corporate Communications Manager South Stream Transport B.V Parnassusweg 809 1082LZ Amsterdam

Reasons for canceling edit

While the official reason given by Russia's Prime Minister is the regulatory feud with EU, it should also be stated that oil/gas markets in general were in a crisis and more specifically Russia's economy was entering recession (https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Economy_of_Russia#2014.E2.80.93present). Globally, nearly $400bn of oil projects planned for 2015 have been delayed or canceled (The Wall Street Journal, The Financial Times ). — Preceding unsigned comment added by 145.94.218.75 (talk) 09:34, 9 June 2016 (UTC)Reply

"dead" edit

AFAIK construction of South Stream proceeds according to plans, it is only regulatory debate that has been put on hold in the light of Ukrainian putsch. These articles citing unnamed EU officials or leaked briefings are unreliable and useless speculation that should not be present in the article. If and when EU Commission enacts particular measures, then it should be added. --Ivan Štambuk (talk) 13:15, 24 April 2014 (UTC)Reply

Total wasted cost? edit

Not just the cost of construction that's now useless, but the cost of taking it apart. Or is there no cost wasted? Instead of turning north, it's just going to turn south?
