The recent unlinking of a redlink on this page (and the unlinking of other redlinks on another dab page, Home (disambiguation)) has now been reverted three times by two different editors. The guidelines that apply here are Wikipedia:Manual of Style/Disambiguation pages#Red links and Wikipedia:Manual of Style/Disambiguation pages#Items appearing within other articles. According to the first guideline, "A link to a non-existent article (a 'red link') should only be included on a disambiguation page when an article (not just disambiguation pages) also includes that red link." The redlinks being unlinked are linked in Wikipedia articles, in most cases, in several articles, so they are acceptable on a disambiguation page. And according to the second guideline, "If a topic does not have an article of its own, but is mentioned within another article, then a link to that article should be included. In this case, the link does not start the line, but it should still be the only blue wikilink." So a redlinked item should include in its description a blue link for further navigation.

Now, we can certainly enter into reasonable discussion on individual cases. I can see, for example removing the link on the Magenta album (on the Home dab page), along with unlinking all the album titles in the band's article (none have articles, so their notability is questionable). But I would keep the redlinks on the TV series (on this dab page), and the other two redlinks on the Home dab page, because those redlinks appear in multiple Wikipedia articles.--ShelfSkewed Talk 17:39, 7 September 2012 (UTC)Reply
