There is of course the long existing rumour, known to all in China, that she had an affair with Jiang Zemin - but for obvious reasons there are no sources on this. The rumor of an affair has had an effect on people (e.g. that professor) beyond the rumor itself. There might be an argument to include that. There is no argument that we should have the completely unknowable text of a letter that no one has proof existed. This part is gossip and unverifiable. Since no improvement has been made to the BLP-dodgy section, I've taken it out until someone can show an argument that it's not all unproven rumor. The New Yorker clearly calls it a rumor. I was giving a benefit-of-the-doubt to a possible argument that no other editor actually ended up articulating. Leaving it in was a mistake when it comes to BLP-non-compliant material.
