I personally praise God for His mighty hand upon your life. I read through your biography and was grateful unto God for the strength bestowed upon you to serve Him till date. What a challenge indeed.
I am a member of Deeper Christian Life Ministry. I taught in BAPTIST HIGH SCHOOL, Jos, Plateau State for 8 years. During my stay in the school, by God's grace, I put in my best and led the debating club to victory in many of our outings. Prizes ranging from textbooks to television set were won. I was one of the most dutiful teachers in the school and I wanted to really serve the school but something happened.
One Mrs Ande was elected as the chairman of the board of directors. Her coming was like a whirlwind. The little benefits we enjoy as staff members were instanteneously and authomatically frozen. Our house rents in the mud building where we hid ourselves were increased. The little place we rear chickens was taxed. Our children's school supported tranports to and fro from their primary schools was attacked. Our take home pay couldn't take us home because it was also badly affected. Above all our interest and God-given desire to serve was in no less threathened. Surprisingly, she was bold to tell the parents during a PTA session about her 'exploits' and no parent could point it to her that it was wrong since a good school is determined by the teachers.
Consequently, some of us left the school in search of where we will see what we are labouring for. My gratuity was not paid until after 10 months. From it was sutracted 6 months of rents and a month's salary. Therefore, I was given the 'change'. Even the school appreciation of 60 thousand naira was siezed by her. All I got after putting in 8 years of service is far below 300000 naira. And not that all was given but to be paid instalmentally. What a shame!!!
