Origin of the logo edit

Gary Cooper and the Solidarity Poster edit

"The most famous Solidarity poster combines the Solidarity logo with a still of American film star Gary Cooper as the sheriff in the world famous 1952 movie High Noon." quoted from the Contemporary Poster site. Scroll down to the 08/00 news release. http://www.contemporaryposters.com/newsrelease/newsrelease.php Designer Thomasz Sarnecki put at the bottom of the poster (in Polish) that June 4, 1989 is High Noon (i.e. the election date).
