Confused edit

According to the article, Mulraj (942 onwards) "established his complete and total hold over Saurashtra and Kachchh", and Siddhraj (1094 onwards) "had also conquered the Malwa [apart from Saurashtra and Kachchh]". This seems a bit unclear to me-- had Saurashtra and Kachchh reasserted their independence in between, or is it that he expanded the area to include Malwa? Thanks! --Bth 11:44, 15 March 2006 (UTC)Reply

does gurjara-pratiharas mean pratiharas of gurjardesh, gurjar rashter?. mulraj himself adopted the title of gurjaresh(king of gurjardesh).if gurjaresh means king of gurjardesh then gurjara-pratihara can also mean pratiharas of gurjardesh, gurjar rashter or gujarat. — Preceding unsigned comment added by 81.97.43.235 (talkcontribs) 11:53, 20 April 2006 (UTC)Reply

Reverts edit

This revert re revert tactic is getting tiresome. Someone called telex removed this Karnatak reference, withour any dicsussion or referrnces. I disagree with Karntak being thne earliest reference, I think they were part of the Sa-ka migration into the Indian subcotinent.I would rather discuss the matter here, and then have a consensus version posted.

ImpuMozhi, I do not know how to help you here. we need an effective policy that stops posters from making chnages without discussion. Ravi Chaudhary 04:14, 9 June 2006 (UTC)Reply

Thanx for the kind comment, Ravi. Please note that I have pruned the categories-list to avoid surplus listings. Also, I have replaces several categories with "Rajput clans" but feel free to ADD your own similar categories without removing this one. It is the name of a clan of Rajputs. It can also be the name of clans belonging to other communities, so if you wish, you can add that, but do not remove this category. Regards, ImpuMozhi 22:54, 27 June 2006 (UTC)Reply
ImpuMozhi
Thank you.
These clan names fall into multiple categories. There is nothing wrong with that as, a 'fact' will fall into more than one category, and it is only proper that the various interconnnections/links be provided.
That, in my humble view, is what an encyclopedia is for, to contains all 'facts' , and to interlink them, all to give a seeker of knowledge, quick access.
I have no intention of removing Rajput, or Gujar, or Jain, or Jat, or Dhangar or any of the categories. People are free to add new categories , if that helps to categorise the information, to make a search scientific and fruitful.
Best regards

Origines of Solankies:
It is written here that the Solankies had ties with Chalukya but it is a comman belief among Gujaraties that, the Solankies originated from Rajasthan from Rajput community. I have also read this in local new paper articles in Vadodara. Can any one give appropriate source for origines of Solankies??
Best Regards

Solankis of Gujarat were descended from the kalyani branch of the Chalukya Family. Though in some books such as "Muhnot Nainsi ri Khyat" it is written that they came from Tonk-Toda in rajasthan. But in the traditional sources of history of Solankis claim that they were descendents of King Bhuvad, who came from Kalyan and attacked Panchasar and annexed Gujarat from Chavadas. Later Vanraj Chavada regained the territory of his father by defeating Solanki cheiftans. After Five generations of Bhuvad, Raj and Beej came to Dwarka and thus married to Samant Singh's sister and thus mulraj borned.
This is the missing link of Solankis of Gujarat and Chalukyas.
A greater part of Solankis in rajasthan are descended from the Solanki dynasty of Gujarat. Though there are some ancient sub-clans of Solankis which came from Ayodhya region when solankis ruled their in ancient times. From Ayodhya region, some came to rajasthan and some went to Southern India to Establish Chalukya Dynasty.

about the decendents of chauladevi edit

There was a sentance in the previous article stating that Siddhraj Jaisinh was oppesed be the descendents of Chauladevi and King Bhimdev.Acutally they were the one who were supporting him;most prominet being Tribhuvanpal Solanki. They were also given the charge of a place called Dethali(probably Devasthali).Tribhuvanpal remained loyal to Siddharaj till he died. —Preceding unsigned comment added by Bhargavophthalmologist (talkcontribs) 17:19, 21 May 2010 (UTC)Reply
