Talk:Soft handover

This isn't just for CDMA, but for GSM and IMS too. Article should be cleaned up. --Bluezy 23:23, 9 January 2006 (UTC)Reply

GSM? No. Mange01 03:28, 27 November 2006 (UTC)Reply
- Most definitely not GSM. Soft hand-offs are specific to CDMA technology. If this is the sole reason for the cleanup tag on the article, I'm going to remove it. KYJustin 23:44, 18 December 2006 (UTC)Reply

So, there's been no further discussion of the cleanup tag since I brought it up over a month ago. We've already addressed the GSM misunderstanding, and the cleanup tag has been on the article for over a year. I feel the article in it's current state is quite acceptable. I'm removing the tag. This definition "can switch between cells to seamlessly keep a connection" is incorrect - this is more the definition of handover (not soft handover). I have therefore changed it-- KPF

shouldn't this be merged with Handoff ?

Usage today?

edit

Is soft handover always supported in the uplink as well as downlink in today's CDMA systems?

Does groups of more than two cells occur? Mange01 12:48, 17 July 2007 (UTC)Reply
