Confusion about concept

The article says the concept of Social Business was proposed by Muhammad Yunus, but it then gives a definition made by Daniel Fleischer, which seems to me a bit confusing. Can anyone make some explanation for this?

Social business definition

This topic is so important to me that I jumped the editing hurdle and added what follows Daniel's paragraph as well as two external references.

Hope that makes it clearer!

I'm now trying to find out how to find who edits a page and what the rules are re putting external links into text.

What a great tool for communication!

Yours in the spirit of social business and the future of capitalism,

Sabine

This definition needs improvement/correction: in Yunus's book on the topic, he describes TWO DIFFERENT TYPES of social businesses. only one of these is owned by the poor. the most prominent (and first) example of a social business he discusses in the book (Grameen Danone) is not this type. I do not have the book with me at the moment for reference, but i believe there was either an entire chapter or at least a large sub-section devoted to the distinction of the two different types. This distinction deserves attention here if nothing else.199.184.238.217 (talk) 19:02, 23 April 2008 (UTC)

The description of a social business enterprise, came in an article on the Grameen website entitled "Social Business Entreprenuers are the Solution" which can be viewed via the link to web archives here. [1].

People-Centered Economic Development

Another profit for social purpose model, People-Centered Economic Development was delivered by Terry Hallman as a volunteer for the Clinton re-election campaign committee in 1996. Though itself returning 100% of profit to social purpose, like Catfund it made the case for a wider interpretation, 'at least 50%' of profit being rendered to social purpose in the P-CED paradigm.

P-CED directs profit into international advocacy for peace and social enterprise and was first delivered to Russia in 2000 in the Tomsk Regional Initiative. P-CEDs ongoing activities are that of pioneering a 'Smart Power' approach in the economic development of the Tatars of Crimea and a 'Marshall Plan' against poverty in Ukraine. [2]

P-CED entered the United Kingdom in 2004 where it operates as a software developer [3] to fund its current social project for model homes for disabled children in Ukraine [4]

"P-CED Review" is a troll and cyberstalker. Refer this to wiki editors re: Anthony van der Craats.

Olivier2point0:
I am very interested in Social Innovation and Social Business issues. I have participated to the World Social Forum in 2007, in Nairobi (Kenya) and organised the first WineCamp about WSF in Paris (France) in 2008.
Today, at Danone, as Social Innovation Animation Manager, I am in charge of:
- Knowledge management for Danone Way Ahead: feed, share and boost our best practices inside our Social Innovation Network
- Community management for danone.communities: follow and promote all the projects and debates danone.communities will launch, through our stakeholders' communities. Please visit and react on http://www.danonecommunities.com
I will follow and try to contribute to this article in the best way i could : feeding it with exemples, facts, figures, ideas... Danone.communities has the mission to incubate social businesses : without promoting our brand, i'll try to find good materials to help understand Social Business. Feel free to contact me.

Merge

I think that this article should be merged with Social enterprise. These two articles share a lot of the same information, and I think the distinction between a "Social Business" and a "Social Enterprise" is just semantics.

Eleven Features of Social Business Organizations

There are no citations / sources for these features. They seem quite random. Please provide a propre source or cancel. Thank you --92.198.60.146 (talk) 12:29, 7 April 2011 (UTC)
