Symmetry edit

The infobox gives the symmetry somewhat arbitrarily for two colorings, not even including the actual coloring of the figure in the infobox!--Patrick (talk) 05:26, 1 October 2009 (UTC)Reply

That's true. I'd change it if I could edit SVG images! Tom Ruen (talk) 05:29, 1 October 2009 (UTC)Reply
I added the symmetry statement to the table image caption. (in Template:Uniform_tiles_db) Tom Ruen (talk) 07:46, 1 October 2009 (UTC)Reply
I added xx also to Template:Uniform tiles db.--Patrick (talk) 04:12, 2 October 2009 (UTC)Reply
I understand why, but it does get messy. Previously symmetry basically listed reflectional symmetry only, or rotational symmetry. Tom Ruen (talk) 04:22, 2 October 2009 (UTC)Reply
Ignoring funny colored pictures, I'd limit listing to uniform colorings, and put them in a separate table for each article, like square tiling, although it doesn't list the symmetry of each uniform coloring. Hexagonal tiling is a good example of this. Tom Ruen (talk) 04:25, 2 October 2009 (UTC)Reply
In infoboxes on tilings and polyhedra the term "Symmetry" is not clear; unambiguous would be "Symmetry of the uncolored version" and/or "Symmetries of the uniform colorings". --Patrick (talk) 07:11, 3 October 2009 (UTC)Reply
