Peak name? edit

Is Snowshoe Mountain the official name of the peak? It isn't listed at the USGS Geographic Names Information System. -- hike395 06:21, 17 January 2006 (UTC)Reply

The official name of the peak is Thorny Flat (4,848 feet). Snowshoe is the name of the resort and the unincorporated town at the base of the mountain. --Dabonnett 16:03, 31 May 2006 (UTC)Reply

Slaty Fork is the name of the unincorporated town at the base of the mountain. Snowshoe, WV 26209 is the town on top of the mountain. The post office is in the basement of the Shavers Center. —Preceding unsigned comment added by 70.101.254.194 (talk) 15:09, 8 October 2008 (UTC)Reply

Mountain biking trails edit

It's kind of late at night to do right now, but would anybody mind if I heavily edit this to talk about both the summer and winter seasons of the mountain, along with the things you can do there? I know lots about t he biking portion.--Xernous 05:41, 15 April 2007 (UTC)Reply

There's one in Colorado edit

While researching volcanism in the Rocky Mountains I stumbled across Snowshoe Mountain, seemingly located in the La Garita Caldera. I doubt it's worth its own page, but there should be references in that article and this one to distinguish it. Dismalscholar (talk) 22:00, 11 January 2020 (UTC)Reply
