What was the movie about the two sisters that was pariodied in this episode?
editI'd like to know too, anyone have any idea? 69.203.86.122
- If anyone still cares, Lisa's nightmare was a reference to the 1962 film What Ever Happened to Baby Jane?. I'll add it to the trivia section. --Marshmello 21:39, 11 November 2007 (UTC) —Preceding unsigned comment added by Marshmello (talk • contribs)
Apu's kids seem to be older than Maggie, who hasn't aged since they were born... — Preceding unsigned comment added by 69.124.116.101 (talk) 00:19, 23 March 2020 (UTC)
"I see a vase, but he sees two men in profile."
editNear the end, Lue comes up and says "Chief, we have a problem." He then proceeds to lift up the famous image of two faces that form a vase, or a glass. Is there a name for this picture? Also, Chief Wiggum then holds up a picture of two cavemen, a small one up close and a larger one behind. He then poses the question "Which figure is bigger? The answer will blow your mind." Is this a real picture, and if so what is it called? 154.20.135.89 03:29, 7 March 2006 (UTC)
Tongue Biology.
editWhen Lisa goes to sleep at the tongue of the giant human statue, the tongue is divided with bitter on the left and sweet on the right. In real life, sweet taste buds are located at the tip of the tongue while bitter taste buds are at the end or root of the tongue. This might be worth adding as a goof. Moophl 23:29, 18 November 2006 (UTC)
- That's a common misconception. In real life taste buds of all kinds are located all over the tongue, not just in specific areas of the tongue. See: Taste bud - Localization of taste and the human "tongue_map". I added this correction to the Trivia section. -- HiEv 16:35, 7 February 2007 (UTC)
- Probably true, but at my own museum, they have a display showing that exact thing. That makes the Springfield museum a rather realistic one.
Free Beer
editOn the free bear signs, dosn't it say "P.S. No free Beer" at the bottom? If it dose, I think that should be added. 209.181.224.182 01:17, 2 March 2007 (UTC)
Cultural References
edit"When they're reviewing the tape there is a reference to the ESPER machine from Blade Runner. The ESPER machine is a voice-commanded device used to manipulate photographs." (remove from article)
Is there any source to validate this? The only connection is the voice control, the ESPER machine can do much more than "rotate and magnify", has special sounds and a slower interface.

editImage:Smart and Smarter.jpg is being used on this article. I notice the image page specifies that the image is being used under fair use but there is no explanation or rationale as to why its use in this Wikipedia article constitutes fair use. In addition to the boilerplate fair use template, you must also write out on the image description page a specific explanation or rationale for why using this image in each article is consistent with fair use.
Please go to the image description page and edit it to include a fair use rationale. Using one of the templates at Wikipedia:Fair use rationale guideline is an easy way to insure that your image is in compliance with Wikipedia policy, but remember that you must complete the template. If there is other fair use media, consider checking that you have specified the fair use rationale on the other images used on this page. Note that any fair use images uploaded after 4 May, 2006, and lacking such an explanation will be deleted one week after they have been uploaded, as described on criteria for speedy deletion.
