Promotional self-sourced editing

edit

Wikipedia is not a host service to mirror internal SIDBI details or to promote the bank's own PR statements. Most of the information should be based on independent reliable sources (like newspapers, books and journals - see WP:RS), not the bank's own self-published promotional information. Some basic details can be reasonably verified with self-published sources, anything else needs independent reliable sources. Also, information should be directly relevant for the bank itself. General information about India's economic situation and other overly-detailed background details about secondary aspects are off-topic for this article. I have removed the recently added information as too detailed and lacking such independent sources. Also, editors with a possible "conflict of interest" should follow WP:COI and WP:PAID, and disclose such a connection to the topic. GermanJoe (talk) 15:21, 9 June 2018 (UTC)Reply

At this point, it is pretty clear that the article has been influenced by numerous editors with a likely conflict of interest, adding excessive self-sourced details to promote both the bank and various development programs of the Indian government. Mostly based on self-published information, press releases, associated websites and blogs, the article fails to provide a succinct overview of the most noteworthy facts based on independent sources. I have re-tagged the article accordingly, as several attempts to create an encyclopedic version have failed. GermanJoe (talk) 04:48, 10 June 2018 (UTC)Reply
I agree that the article is weighed down by a lot of promotional jargon and jabber, and I will be trying to pare it down a bit in the near future. JohnInDC (talk) 11:40, 11 June 2018 (UTC)Reply
