vomit

edit

is there a 'vomit' tag... because that is wwhat i am about to do.

in fact, i think there should be a warning at the top of these pages... page may induce vomiting —Preceding unsigned comment added by Decora (talkcontribs) 01:06, 19 December 2008 (UTC)Reply

Looks like a perfectly fine dish to me. However many people who think that meat comes from a plastic tray in a supermarket may find real food to be a bit challenging. Try looking up Balut to find a truly picturesque dish. --MichaelGG (talk) 05:18, 21 April 2010 (UTC)Reply

That image is not about roasting the "smalahove", it is showing how the fur on the head is being burned of. It is then later smoked. --80.202.114.128 20:40, 9 June 2007 (UTC)Reply

I can see no reason why there are links to Scrapie, a sheep disease, and Prions. I take it that they have been mischievously placed by vegans or whoever. If not removed within a month, I'll cut them out. --MichaelGG (talk) 05:18, 21 April 2010 (UTC)Reply

I agree. I removed them. No need to wait. Just be bold. Rettetast (talk) 10:08, 21 April 2010 (UTC)Reply

Correct norwegian

edit

I have many Norwegian friends, which have queried the line:

"The Norwegian word hovud, hove means head. The word smale (indefinite, singular) is one word for sheep." —Preceding unsigned comment added by 83.100.227.146 (talk) 22:08, 24 July 2010 (UTC)Reply

True, but the word 'smale' is sort of archaic...
These days we just use 'sau' about sheep, but the old word is still used in the dish name. Luredreier (talk) 16:56, 11 January 2011 (UTC)Reply

Sviðahaus

edit

Erh sorry for asking, but being a vegetarian and all I fail to see the difference between sviðahaus an icelandic dish and smalahove...
Could someone enlighten me if there is a difference?
And if there isn't then perhaps the article could be changed to say that it's a traditional western nordic dish instead or traditional norwegian and icelandic dish or whatever it might be...
Off-course if there is a difference then the icelandic dish could perhaps be given it's own page and a reference to it could be made in this one, possibly listing a few of the differences. *shrugs*
I don't know, but I'll leave it all to you guys :-)

In case anyone is wondering "Sviðahaus" means "Burned head" and is referring to a burned sheep head. Luredreier (talk) 07:15, 12 January 2011 (UTC)Reply
Moved the previous comment down from the top of the page to here since it's the same subject as my own comment. Luredreier (talk) 07:21, 12 January 2011 (UTC)Reply
