Amtrak edit

How many Slumbercoaches survived to see service in the Amtrak era? When did Amtrak retire them, and for what proximate reason? What routes did they last run on?

Answers to these questions will make great bases for future edits to this article. —CComMack (tc) 23:05, 4 February 2009 (UTC)Reply

I may be the only Wikipedian on the planet who has actually slept in a slumbercoach. For what it's worth, which is negligible, except to betray to all and sundry that I am not a teenager. I can attest that slumbercoaches were utilized on the Broadway Limited between Chicago and New York in the 1970s. This cannot be added to the article, as it is original research, of course. I think the fare was $60, including accomodations and transportation, which wasn't bad at all for the time. Coretheapple (talk) 00:25, 14 November 2013 (UTC)Reply

The Illinois railway museum has pictures of the inside, if someone who knows how to contact them asks, they might allow its use — Preceding unsigned comment added by 24.114.26.178 (talk) 21:34, 17 December 2013 (UTC)Reply

I guess it's worth asking, but they would have to release the photos into the public domain. Coretheapple (talk) 23:59, 17 December 2013 (UTC)Reply
