On the topic of homemade slime I'm basing my input based on my personal experience coordinating the making of the stuff at kids parties and as a kind of home chemistry experiment on rainy days.

My inspiration for documenting this here follows from a conversation I had with a school science teacher at the Young Scientists Exhibition in Dublin 2005 where she had supported a group of students and their project to measure the viscosity of different slime recipes. The basic ingredients being PVA glue (white glue), Borax (household chemical with various uses, odor removal for fridges, or as an antibacterial wash) and water.

The best external source for detailed quantities & instructions I found was http://www.madsci.org/experiments/archive/878680114.Ch.html

Final Fantasy

edit

The "Final Fantasy" link doesn't actual point to anything slime-related in the series. Oddity-User Talk 08:48, 13 January 2008 (UTC)Reply

Dragon Quest Slime

edit

Nearly half this article is an indepth list of different slimes found in the Dragon Quest games which are not familiar to many readers or interesting to anyone looking for an general article on slime. Shouldn't this be either moved into the Dragon Quest article or moved into a new article (e.g., Slime (Dragon Quest))?

This certainly could deal with a mention in the Slime In Games section but the current list seems a bit much.

Fluid dynamics?

Does this really belong in the fluid dynamics category? —mako 21:31, 16 February 2006 (UTC)Reply

Perhaps the Slime in Video Games section should be renamed "Video Games" and incorporated as a subsection of a new "Slime(s) in Popular Culture" section ("slime" could be both a count noun and a mass noun in this context). Other subsections could include "Anime and Manga".

Anime and Manga

edit

Slimes appear in several Japanese anime and manga. They generally appear as colorful, translucent, bouncy, jelly-like blobs with human facial features, and arms when the need arises.

  • In Dragon Half, Princess Vina is a slime-half, being the offspring of the human King Siva and Queen Venus, a slime who transformed herself to human form using a magical People Potion. Vina transformed herself to human form by other means.
  • A family of slimes appear briefly in the first Slayers movie, Slayers Perfect. Perhaps this was a nod to Dragon Half.

(I'm sure there are other examples, but I can't recall any at the moment!)

Zoological Slime

edit

This article appears to need a section on natural slimes, such as those produced by slugs and snails. Any zoologists in the house? --71.36.251.182 16:32, 23 August 2006 (UTC)Reply

Italicize "Minecraft". It is a video game and video games should be italicized. Thank you. 143.44.165.98 (talk) 04:18, 9 September 2022 (UTC)Reply
