editI feel it is important for this article to dive more into detail behind the KMFDM/Slick Idiot spilt. Are Sascha K/Watts and Schulz/Esch still on good terms? Would/Will they ever work together again?
Has this issue ever been brought up in detail in Interviews with either party?
- While it's mentioned briefly in the KMFDM article, the reasons for the split have always been rather vague. I think the official reason is the ever-ambiguous "artistic differences", and it's rarely elaborated upon in interviews. Thinly-veiled jabs at each other still pop up in both KMFDM and Slick Idiot/Pigface lyrics, fueling continuous rivalry rumors. But as we all know, Sascha and En Esch are notorious for lampooning themselves so all the "battle rap" stuff could very well be more tongue-in-cheekiness in the same vein as KMFDM's "Light", "Sucks", "Intro", "Megalomaniac" and at least a dozen others. Heck, the lyrics to "Feed Our Fame" may provide the best "explaination" yet! --buck 20:32, 2 January 2007 (UTC)
Thank you Buck. This is the best explination I've been able to find. As anti-climatic as it sounds, I think you're absolutely right as far as the split. Also, you point to the lyrics to "Feed our Fame" and I never thought to look at the song in this context. Again, I think you're deffinatly on to something. Thanks again. Disbanded?
editIn En Esch's Pledgemusic site for his new solo album he funded there, he's referring to himself as an ex-member of KMFDM, Pigface, and Slick Idiot. I haven't been able to find any definitive statement on the subject, so whether this means he's done collaborating permanently under that name with Schulz and Mur and the rest is unclear, but keep an eye out for a more official statement in upcoming interviews about his current album as they appear, as I suspect the band is done for now. 2601:4:B80:572:58E4:DE7F:2258:C728 (talk) 12:13, 28 September 2014 (UTC)
