Talk:Slasher (tool)

Latest comment: 7 years ago by Manytexts in topic Double tag

Australian usage edit

In Australia, a slasher is a sort of giant lawn mower fitted to a farm tractor, most commonly as a rear-mounted attachment.

Not quite sure how to source this, or how to incorporate it into our article structure.

Apologies for the double tag, both seem appropriate and not sure which is better patrolled. Please feel free to boldly remove the other one if responding to either. Andrewa (talk) 20:28, 19 November 2016 (UTC)Reply

Double tag edit

Thankyou for your alert. I take your point. It's good to keep articles global.
Removed both tags because the article is still so slim, its implied need for context and expansion will likely grow the stub. Also it seems that we're talking a slasher (tool) and slasher (machinery) which really don't belong together as equipment but do as implements.
Having the urls, you might like to start a separate article on the machinery, with a "see also" in the article, or or a sub-section, or in an etymology, a reference to the term being used in Australia for something quite different but with a similar larger scale mechanised purpose.
