in https://medium.com/insurge-intelligence/why-google-made-the-nsa-2a80584c9c1 Nafeez Ahmed says "Given that Wells’ white paper highlighted the Pentagon’s keen interest in monopolizing AI research to monopolize autonomous networked robot warfare, it is not entirely surprising that the Forum’s sponsoring partners at SAIC/Leidos display a bizarre sensitivity about public use of the word ‘Skynet.’ "On a Wikipedia entry titled ‘Skynet (fictional)’, people using SAIC computers deleted several paragraphs under the ‘Trivia’ section pointing out real-world ‘Skynets’, such as the British military satellite system, and various information technology projects." Where is that in the history? GangofOne (talk) 08:29, 30 August 2015 (UTC)Reply

The lede says, Skynet was created by Cyberdyne Systems for SAC-NORAD. Then it goes on to say, Legion was also developed by the SAC-NORAD. These statements do not line up, for obvious reasons. Was Legion developed by Cyberdyne or was Skynet developed by SAC-NORAD? Elizium23 (talk) 20:57, 14 January 2020 (UTC)Reply

Infobox image

Is this a fan-made logo? I can't find any info on where it comes from. The movies don't feature a Skynet logo as far as I recall. The image's original URL source is outdated, and archived versions show that the page is simply the image itself, with no details on where it actually came from. It seems to be a fan-made variation of the Cyberdyne Systems logo. Questions about the image's authenticity were also raised here.

Another image, which had been in the article for the past few years, is actually for Skynet Research, a short-lived viral website for one of the six films that received little coverage ([1], [2]). This seems too obscure to use in the infobox.

From 2016 to 2021, the infobox used an image of Matt Smith as the T-5000, the one-time physical embodiment of Skynet. As noted here, however, this only accounts for a few minutes of screen time in only one of the films.

As there seems to be no common, recognizable image of Skynet, would it be better to just leave the image field blank in the infobox?  AJFU  (talk) 17:33, 22 August 2024 (UTC)Reply
