Doesn't S have to be a metric space? At least in Billingley's book it is.

The notation used to describe the distribution or law of the random variables of arrow seems to be a bit misleading, you have the symbols and also the text explanations.

I'm not sure but arrows should be used when some convergence is involved (as in the third case) not just to describe the law of a random variable, some books use the fancy L for that, which I think is the best option in this case. — Preceding unsigned comment added by 2602:306:C53B:6850:76E5:BFF:FE52:B0D6 (talk) 14:17, 30 September 2015 (UTC)Reply
