Martina Navratilova!
editI have removed the prominant refs to Martina Navratilova as the actress playing the corpse in Episode 1. This seemed to imply that the famous tennis star appeared in the show - which she did not. The link from the name was to the famous star and not to the obscure actress who shares her name. She was also listed as one of the stars in the info box! As she only had the tiniest part this was unjustified.
The source reference was a quote from a TV review which noted that the bit part actress shared her name with the tennis star. It may be worth noting in a trivia section (but I doubt it). As it stood it suggested a bizarre cameo appearance worthy of note and this was misleading.Daisyabigael (talk) 10:19, 17 August 2009 (UTC)
- OK, but this means the DYK on the Main Page is misleading. That also links to the tennis player but I don't believe this was originally the case. There is no reason not to mention the name at any rate as this has been verified. The phrasing of the sentence in the article does not imply that it is her. I am going to return the name without the link so that anyone who reads this article when it is on the Main Page understands. When it is off the Main Page tomorrow it can be discussed but right now several people are going to post at WP:ERRORS requesting an explanation. --candle•wicke 14:25, 17 August 2009 (UTC)
The link still takes us to the tennis star's page! The famous MN did not appear in this show so why do you keep putting this in? A statement to the effect that a minor actress by that name was credited may be ok as trivia but why include it in a short summary of the plot? It gives the factoid unnecessary weight - and that will mislead people into thinking it was the famous MN. If you don't remove it, I will. Daisyabigael (talk) 10:49, 18 August 2009 (UTC)
- If you check the history you'll find that I didn't put the link back in. Someone else did when they viewed it from the Main Page and saw it wasn't linked. Now my concerns are over as it is off the Main Page, I have moved on and have no interest in edit-warring so you may do what you wish as long as policy permits. --candle•wicke 15:21, 18 August 2009 (UTC)
Half Sister Phrasing
editThis sentence: ...has unknowingly had sexual intercourse with his half-sister by the end of the episode makes it seem that Driscoll didn't know he had sex, as opposed to not knowing it was his half sister. I suggest ... and by the end of the episode he has had sexual intercourse with a woman he does not know is his half-sister. Or ... and by the end of the episode he has had sexual intercourse with a woman who is later revealed to be his half sister. Lovellama (talk) 00:10, 18 August 2009 (UTC)
It's a hell of a spoiler in anycase! Daisyabigael (talk) 10:50, 18 August 2009 (UTC)
- WP:SPOILER. --candle•wicke 15:22, 18 August 2009 (UTC)
- But he didn't He was rude to her so she would leave. And she did. Not knowing why he changed towards her. 98.16.174.2 (talk) 07:02, 4 May 2015 (UTC)
