Should we include sinestro corps members that have been talked about but not shown?--Marhawkman 23:48, 7 June 2007 (UTC)Reply

members

edit

why do we have the members listed in the info box and the main article. Wikipedia:Lists

also "yet to join" is a whole section with speculation. "strange little robots" wtf? this can all be converted into prose in the history section. --EXV // + @ 04:30, 29 June 2007 (UTC)Reply

Yet to join is NOT speculation, the section has adequate references. The info box is a simple list with no inormation about them. The list in the article has a short description of each that won't fit in the info box.--Marhawkman 05:25, 29 June 2007 (UTC)Reply
Still, it shouldn't be written like a list. There can be a "members" section but actually written out. You know like hierarchy, prominent members etc. Look at Justice League, or Green Lantern Corps. Oh and i meant "yet to join" *sounds* like speculation. In a written out members sections, it would be easier to add in future members. Actually quoting Van Sciver instead of putting in a random blurb like "small little creatures." --EXV // + @ 06:18, 29 June 2007 (UTC)Reply
Actually, I'm going to use Green Lantern Corps as a template for this article. --EXV // + @ 06:22, 29 June 2007 (UTC)Reply
"it is not set in stone and should be treated with common sense" Anyways... Lists are not in and of themselves bad. pointless lists are bad. Writing out a list of characters in Prose would be awkward.--Marhawkman 06:40, 29 June 2007 (UTC)Reply
also the article isn't large enough to warrant splitting out the list of members.--Marhawkman 06:41, 29 June 2007 (UTC)Reply
Okay we need to split out the list now. It's way too long. Maybe trim out a large chunk of the corps war summary too.--Marhawkman (talk) 08:58, 19 January 2008 (UTC)Reply

Batman

edit

Which issue did the thing happen with him?Wrestlinglover420 21:35, 8 August 2007 (UTC)Reply

And as it normally goes i have to do the research by myself. Turns out it was in Green Lantern #17.Wrestlinglover420 02:39, 16 August 2007 (UTC)Reply

Booster Gold

edit

Should there be a mention that he was the one that inspired Sinestro to form the corp(lying to him and stating that in the future, everyone was part of the Sinestro Corp)? —Preceding unsigned comment added by 66.112.51.148 (talk) 21:17, 21 November 2007 (UTC)Reply

No, because that didn't happen.LifeStroke420 (talk) 22:02, 21 November 2007 (UTC) \Reply

Um, actually, yes it did, LifeStroke. Why don't you go do a little research before shooting down facts, hm? I honestly can't stand people like you. Normal people, who may not have been aware of this fact, would have just left it alone. But you... you had to go and deny a fact that you clearly know noting about. Go read Booster Gold #2, then come back and try to tell me that it didn't happen. —Preceding unsigned comment added by 71.172.251.156 (talk) 08:03, 13 December 2007 (UTC)Reply

While Booster Gold did tell a younger Sinestro that the Sinestro Corps did exist, I do not really see any concrete reference by Sinestro himself stating that Booster influenced the Sinestro Corps in anyway. In storyline terms, Sinestro may have had the idea in the back of his mind prior to that yet only began to seriously contemplate it afterward. Therefore, until Sinestro states that he was influenced by Booster Gold, I don't think it's necessary to include that reference. 192.76.82.89 (talk) 15:18, 13 December 2007 (UTC)Reply

How dare you say I dont know what I'm talking about your the ignorant one.LifeStroke420 (talk) 15:51, 13 December 2007 (UTC)Reply

Merge Enkafos

edit
  • merge/nom - Enkafos is a minor member of the Sinestro Corps, whose appearances are limited to the Sinestro War, which led to his ultimate demise. Such a minor character does not merit his own page, and could be incorporated into a Sinestro Corps members list, similar to that of GL Corp list. -66.109.248.114 (talk) 23:11, 29 November 2007 (UTC)Reply
Oppose for now. I'd wait until the story arc is over to see if the characters will be used later.--Marhawkman 20:58, 30 November 2007 (UTC)Reply
Isn't Enkafos dead now? If so we can merge him.--Marhawkman (talk) 17:03, 15 December 2007 (UTC)Reply

Merge Bedovian

edit
  • merge/nom - Bedovian is a minor member of the Sinestro Corps, whose appearances are limited to the Sinestro War. Such a minor character does not merit his own page, and could be easily incorporated into a Sinestro Corps members list, similar to that of GL Corp list. -66.109.248.114 (talk) 23:11, 29 November 2007 (UTC)Reply

comment there is a complete lack of notability for this character regardless of any potenial later uses. It would be better served on SC paged.-66.109.248.114 (talk) 00:06, 21 December 2007 (UTC).Reply
that sounds good. we can always change it back later.--Marhawkman (talk) 12:40, 24 December 2007 (UTC)Reply

Issue Listing

edit

Any way to list a chronology of the events of the Sinestro Corps story arc by listing the issues of comics involved? —Preceding unsigned comment added by Daivrocks (talkcontribs) 12:41, 13 December 2007 (UTC)Reply

I like this idea, actually, specifically for the Sinestro Corps War. I think it would function better if broken up by chapter, with the specific issue referenced as the source for that portion of the information, rather than having the information run together without chapter information.192.76.82.89 Hazardous Matt (talk) 15:00, 14 December 2007 (UTC)Reply
I think breaking up the summary by Chapter would be most helpful for people to zero in on particular points of the story for themselves. Also, someone reading this page in passing would have no idea what comics to go out and find if they were interested in pursuing the specifics or collecting said issues. If such a thing is not possible, how about a blurb about "The story arc of the Sinestro Corps was contained in GL#blah blah blah, Sinestro Corps#blah blah"??Daivrocks (talk) 05:16, 24 December 2007 (UTC)DaivrocksReply
I was looking at it mainly for the Sinestro Corps War, but since that has its own page, the individual sources should work, as they'd just point to whatever issue the event occurred in. Hazardous Matt (talk) 14:43, 24 December 2007 (UTC)Reply

Training

edit

Are there any sources for the Training section? There are no referenced materials. Hazardous Matt (talk) 15:00, 14 December 2007 (UTC)Reply

It's a plot summary. Several issues of Green Lantern(and related books) have mentioned it in detail.--Marhawkman (talk) 17:00, 15 December 2007 (UTC)Reply
Okay, I guess it was in some of the "Tales from the Sinestro Corps" stories. I didn't really start following GL monthly until the SCW had begun. As it's a summary, does it still need a cite for reference, or does it get by on it's own? (Still kinda new to editing.) Hazardous Matt (talk) 16:05, 17 December 2007 (UTC)Reply
I suppose we should cite it as being from the "Tales of the Sinestro corps". Not quite sure what issue # those were though.--Marhawkman (talk) 12:23, 19 December 2007 (UTC)Reply
I'll try to locate the issues the back-up stories were in. Probably won't be done until after the Holiday, but it doesn't seem to be contested at this point so there's no need for a rush. Hazardous Matt (talk) 17:00, 19 December 2007 (UTC)Reply

Mongul

edit

Should Mongul be listed as a member, or at least a ring-bearer? He was shown in the epilogue wielding the ring of a Corps member whom he had killed, and had the Corps symbol on his chest. Hazardous Matt (talk) 20:29, 19 December 2007 (UTC)Reply

I guess. He's not really an "official" member, but that's because the Corps has no homebase anymore.--Marhawkman (talk) 10:25, 20 December 2007 (UTC)Reply

Merged Despotellis

edit

-merge/nomination - similar to that of Bevodian and Enkafos, this is a minor member (minor=non herald) of the Sinestro Corps. Its only appearances are limited to Sinestro Corps War. Doesn't satisfy Wikipedia:Fiction standards for notabilty by itself, better incorporated into a members list. The character is dead, if Enkafos was merged so should the germ. - 66.109.248.114 (talk) 00:11, 21 December 2007 (UTC).Reply

sure... sounds good.--Marhawkman (talk) 12:40, 24 December 2007 (UTC)Reply
merged - 66.109.248.114 (talk) 22:40, 29 December 2007 (UTC).Reply
Hunh... Turns out he's not dead. But either way, merging him works.--Marhawkman (talk) 13:46, 30 December 2007 (UTC)Reply

Plot tag

edit

Is there anything that could be added to show some real-world perspective - sales figures, reviews, essays on long-term impact, etc.? As it stands, it's violating several guidelines on what makes a valid article. Pairadox (talk) 03:30, 17 January 2008 (UTC)Reply

War Synopsis

edit

I think since the War actually has its own article, that section on this article could be drastically reduced. Anyone agree? Disagree?  Hazardous Matt  20:17, 19 March 2008 (UTC)Reply

sure go ahead. it screws with the formatting as is.--Marhawkman (talk) 08:25, 20 March 2008 (UTC)Reply
I'll play around with it in my sandbox this week and see what can be done. Thanks.  Hazardous Matt  14:20, 20 March 2008 (UTC)Reply

Merge Arkillo

edit
  • nomination - nominating per precidence of Bevodian, Despotolis and Enkafos. Character appeared exlusively in context of Sinestro Corps War. Page could be reutilized in future, but currently, minor character in single storyline. -66.109.248.114 (talk) 20:38, 22 March 2008 (UTC).Reply
agreed. Though I don't think that we should automatically do this with all of them.--Marhawkman (talk) 18:19, 24 March 2008 (UTC)Reply
I think only the members who have no appearance or context outside the SC. That would leave out the likes of Fatlity, Amon Sur, Mongul etc. Are there others to be concerned about. -66.109.248.114 (talk) 18:55, 24 March 2008 (UTC).Reply
Merged per discussion.66.109.248.114 (talk) 20:07, 2 April 2008 (UTC).Reply

Ring bearers section and copyvios

edit

I'm pretty sure most of the stuff in that section is potential copyright violation on Green Lantern/Sinestro Corps: Secret Files and Origins. I'm going to have to dig out my copy to confirm but the issue had a lot of little blurbs like in this section. --William Graham talk 07:20, 15 February 2009 (UTC)Reply

I can confirm that. I think the entire section should go, save for any individual characters that have actually done something outside of their bioblurb, but am up for alternatives if anyone has any. Sodam Yat (talk) 06:49, 27 August 2009 (UTC)Reply
