Edit Request / COI
editThis edit request by an editor with a conflict of interest was declined. Lack of editor’s support for the proposal, and lack of replies from the requester |
My name is Sophie and I work in the communications team at Sainsbury’s. As such, I wanted to be transparent about my COI with this entry, and post a request that editors consider some updates to this entry. My suggestions are designed to address one or two factual issues and to add some additional substance. I have included some supporting citations in case they are helpful.
- Insert at the end of the Sainsbury’s subsection: ‘Upon becoming CEO, Simon Roberts made two senior appointments to Sainsbury’s operating board, making Clo Moriarty, previously Chief Digital Director, Retail and Digital Director and promoting Chief Marketing Officer Mark Given to the operating board.’ Sources for this include these articles in the Daily Mail, Retail Week and The Grocer
- Insert after the above addition: ‘Roberts is continuing Sainsbury’s and Argos’s digital strategy, which includes the discontinuation of the Argos catalogue in July 2020.’ Sources include the Mirror, Metro and the Sun
- Again, insert after the above addition: ‘On 5 November Roberts announced an updated business plan’ Sources include Retail Week
- ‘and confirmed he would waive any bonus for the 2020/2021 Financial Year.’ Sources include The Times
Tagging Edwardx as I noticed that he has been active on this entry in the past. Please let me know if you have any questions. Many thanks. SPraill (talk) 11:37, 2 December 2020 (UTC)
- Request #1: Marginal support: The proposed citations are bordering on brief blurbs, but I think they are sufficient.
- Request #2: Oppose: The proposed citations merely briefly mention or quote the article-subject.
- Request #3: No opinion: Can't access the proposed source
- Request #4: No opinion: Can't access the proposed source
I have no connection to the article-subject. I suggest whoever responds to this Request Edit ask the proposer to email them full-text copies of the proposed sources. CorporateM (Talk) 12:44, 15 February 2021 (UTC)
- Chipping in with my view on these 4 topics:
- Request #1: Oppose. Mentioning these individual employees, particularly in this brief blurb, adds no value, and borderlines on self-promotion of executives.
- Request #2: Oppose. Not relevant.
- Request #3: No opinion: Can't access the proposed source (same as CorporateM above me said)
- Request #4: No opinion: Can't access the proposed source (same as CorporateM above me said)

I would be extremely grateful if an editor could please upload this image of Sainsbury's CEO, Simon Roberts, to this page.

Baby born
editHi, on the 25th of march 2023 Saturday, my daughter gave birth in your ashford store around 3.40 to 4.00pm. I would like to thank everyone who give my daughter and me so much support. I haven’t been contacted by sainsburys for any support or reassurance that my daughter and baby were ok. This would have come as such a recognition and support from your store . As this was a ordeal and drama one will never forget.
kind regards mrs heather tuck 2A00:23C6:900E:3901:618E:9BE5:67C1:9651 (talk) 19:49, 27 March 2023 (UTC)
