Which Rockefeller does John D. Rockefeller descend from?

There are two conflicting claims as to which Rockefeller John D. Rockefeller descends from. There is a claim he was described from Diell Rockefeller who immigrated to Germantown, New York. However there is a conflicting claim he is descended from Johan Peter Rockefeller who immigrated to Philadelphia, Pennsylvania. It appears that the famous John D. Rockefellers connection to Diell Rockefeller of Germantown is purely coincidentally having the same rare last name.RichardBond (talk) 21:56, 8 September 2022 (UTC)Reply
