The article's tone contains a level of conjecture and information not based entirely on facts. Examples include:

"Whilst this will make it one of the global leaders in palm oil origination" - this is more a forecast than a fact.
Same goes for "Pulling from a combined experience of 400 years of three great legacies, Sime Darby is poised with the potential for more in the future". This statement is also somewhat judgemental.

Overall, the articles style, while informative, is more narrative than factual.

I have attempted to cut out all the colourful narrative so that the article is now factual. Note that the article had (incorrectly) stated that Harrision and Crossfield had changed its name to Golden Hope Plantations Berhad. The truth is that Harrison and Crossfield sold the plantations to Malaysian concerns and then renamed itself Elementis. Dormskirk (talk) 20:46, 6 April 2008 (UTC)Reply

Sime Darby Berhad (2007) is not Sime, Darby and Co. Limited (1910) edit

While the "Sime Darby" brand and much of the physical property traces back to Sime, Darby and Co. Limited (based in London), this article is very confusing because it conflates that company with the modern Sime Darby Berhad created in 2007. I intend to reorganize this article accordingly. I just removed the following from Golden Hope. It may be worth updating and incorporating some of this content here.

"In biodiesel industry, Golden Hope’s first biodiesel plant at Teluk Panglima Garang, Banting which is operated by its wholly owned subsidiary Rubiatec Sdn Bhd, has begun its maiden commercial production on June 24, 2006. Its second plant is located at East Estate, Carey Island has started operations in May 2007. This plant is a joint venture between Golden Hope and the Malaysian Palm Oil Board in which it uses MPOB’s technology. Golden Hope will build two other biodiesel plants, one in Bintulu, Sarawak and another at Unimills in The Netherlands. When all four plants are operational by early 2008, Golden Hope will be producing a total of 390,000 tonnes of biodiesel a year, all of which will be exported." I just removed the following from the "Controversies" section. While this information would be appropriate to include somewhere, that's not where it belongs (at least not without further explanation of their role in the controversy.

"Former Deputy Prime Minister of Malaysia, Tun Musa Hitam and former Chief Secretary of the Malaysian government Tan Sri Samsudin Osman, used to sit on its board.^[1]^[2] The CEO of Malaysian Palm Oil Council (MPOC), Tan Sri Datuk Dr Yusof Basiron, used to sit on the board of Sime Darby.^[2] ^[3]" --Dowcet (talk) 23:38, 19 May 2016 (UTC)Reply
