Copyvio?

edit

Which page came first? Most of the current text of this article was introduced in May 2005. So the question is, how old is the Loremaster page? 204.153.84.10 (talk) 22:32, 29 March 2010 (UTC)Reply

The Loremaster website is only a year old. The Wikia version was created about a year younger after the text was posted on this Wikipedia page; even if the text here was copied from somewhere else ultimately, the text at these other links was apparently copied from Wikipedia. 24.148.0.83 (talk) 03:56, 30 March 2010 (UTC)Reply
I am extremely sceptical that the text inserted in these revisions is original to Wikipedia. It reads very much like it was copied from a sourcebook. That text still forms the core of the article, and the rest is entirely in-universe anyway. Chris Cunningham (not at work) - talk 08:10, 30 March 2010 (UTC)Reply
It was possibly copied from somewhere, but until such a source is identified, I don't think it can be properly called copyvio. If I have time (much) later today, I'll check a few books that I have to see if any of it matches. 24.148.0.83 (talk) 12:02, 30 March 2010 (UTC)Reply
One thing I can tell you is that it was not copied from the book Silver Marches, which I had pegged as the #1 suspect, unless it was very skillfully done. I'll have to check other sources later. 24.148.0.83 (talk) 12:16, 30 March 2010 (UTC)Reply
Okay, sure. I've removed the speedy nomination for now. Thanks. Chris Cunningham (not at work) - talk 10:25, 31 March 2010 (UTC)Reply
No problem - I also checked a few of the earliest sources, which I didn't really suspect, but once you rule out the obvious ones... 24.148.0.83 (talk) 13:21, 31 March 2010 (UTC)Reply
