Misspelling or variation? --> Siegesbeckia

This plant was named after Johann (Georg) Siegesbeck [spelled with ie not only i]. Source (Wikipedia German): http://de.wikipedia.org/wiki/Johann_Georg_Siegesbeck. In the plant database www.pfaf.org it is also listed under Siegesbeckia orientalis pubescens as well as in the Oeconomischen Encyclopädie von Johann Georg Krünitz www.kruenitz1.uni-trier.de. Please clarify.

  1. S. jorullensis, native to South America[7]
  2. S. orientalis, introduced to a variety of places around the world,[1][8][9] for example by Polynesians to New Zealand.[10]
  3. S. serrata, native to South America[7] , at least since 1920 Germany (Hamburg)

could be synonyma, see here: http://www.floraweb.de/pflanzenarten/taxonomie.xsql?sipnr=7406& serrata would be the acc. name.91.16.138.4 (talk) 16:56, 11 October 2010 (UTC)Reply
