I believe there are numerous errors in this article. I am not going to bother fixing them but I'll go ahead and point them out here. Granite Mountain is not part of the Sierra Prieta and receives far too much attention in the article. I have read numerous hiking books that make this distinction - pick any source to confirm that Granite Mountain is considered a separate formation. I am also fairly certain that Tonto Mountain (also mentioned) is not a part of the Sierra Prieta. It rises from the much lower elevations of Skull Valley to the west and is separated from the Sierra Prieta by Tonto wash. Highway 89 is mentioned as separating the Brandsaw and Sierra Prieta ranges. The highway does transect the two ranges but the actual division is the Hassayampa river. Finally, "Thumb Butte" is a proper noun and should not be referred to as 'a Thumb Butte'. One of the photographs is mostly of Granite Mountain - moving the focus some 45 degrees to the left will bring the majority of the Sierra Prieta into frame. 134.114.230.4 (talk) 19:35, 30 January 2012 (UTC)Reply

I made this article fairly quickly, and I lived in Prescott for ten years. True, I should have thought of the Hassayampa River (Canyon) as the separating point. This started my series of articles (end of ~winter-weather of YUMA, AZ) and was because the category: en:Category:Prescott National Forest was just being populated (another Wiki-person was on a mission of making National Forest categories, populating them).. I knew that this was the one range (nobody had made) and the last of the Prescott National Forest. (not the last of the Arizona transition zone mountain ranges)..... so.. given time.. I'll do some correcting, or article tweaking.... But, I do want to say how: Wikipedia is a collaboration. It took a lot to get to the point where I could make a "halfway decent 'landform' article" -(in a short time)... only others who notice the discrepancies, can help refine the future of the article.
