old comments from 2007 edit

A large portion of this article is a copyright violation copied from palmvillage.com which is a hotel site fer chrissakes [1] Hardly an authoritative site on Siem Reap town. I'll give it a day or two for courtesy and then it gets nuked. Paxse 16:15, 11 June 2007 (UTC)Reply

Request! edit

The Coordinates on Infobox Settlement template of this article(13°N 21°E) seem to be wrong. Can any body check it? Best Regards. --Kiensvay | Kiensvay(Talk on kmwiki) 08:52, 2 March 2008 (UTC)Reply

meaning? edit

I've been told by a Cambodian that "Siem Reap" means "siamese law". What's about?

I've been only thriough Takéo Province close to the Vietnamese border of An Giang, studying the Khmer Krom.

No, the article is correct. It means 'Thailand the defeated' or thereabouts. Sean.hoyland - talk 02:38, 4 December 2008 (UTC)Reply

Copyright violation edit

Once again the guidebooks are being plagiarised for content - this time Nick Ray's old Lonely Planet article - anybody else feel like nuking it this time? Takers? --Paxse (talk) 17:02, 28 October 2008 (UTC)Reply

info edit

I personally think that this article is great, knowledgable and informative. I would say Siem Reap have many things to talk and describe about. An article could not meantion what it's all about. The name edit

Sometimes the name of the city is spelled as Siĕmréab (see http://global.britannica.com/EBchecked/topic/543286/Siemreab). I think this needs to be mentioned in the article.

You haven't said what you think is wrong with the coordinates in the article, and they appear to be correct. If you still think that there is an error, you'll need to supply a clear explanation of what it is. Deor (talk) 17:25, 6 December 2021 (UTC)Reply

Reads like an advert edit

Some of the information under 'attractions', 'notable sites near Siem Reap', 'local specialties' and 'transportation' read to me like an advertisment for tourism, especially the section detailing where to buy brandy in 'local specialties', and the instructions for how to get between Bangkok and Siem Reap in 'transportation'.
