About the "Popular culture and legacy" section.

No attempt is made to recognize Achilles or Alexander as an Albanian!!! It's merely what an Albanian poet said. If it causes controversy, feel free to remove it.--Gaius Claudius Nero (talk) 00:32, 16 February 2009 (UTC)

Never mind. I reworded it to avoid controversy. Sorry about that.--Gaius Claudius Nero (talk) 01:06, 16 February 2009 (UTC)

Result was Remove First, Second etc. --Sulmues (talk) 12:33, 13 October 2010 (UTC)

Requested move

First Siege of Krujë (1450)First Siege of Krujë — Dates are redundant, as each siege is clearly named as first, second, etc. Constantine 08:51, 4 October 2010 (UTC)

  • Disagree. Actually, let's not change this. The year just gives some more information on the year. Removing it just removes information which is useful in the sea of wars occurred in 15th century. --Sulmues (talk) 16:04, 11 October 2010 (UTC)
  • OK Sulmues, then let's remove the "first", "second" etc. These terms are there for disambiguation. You can have either the numbers or the dates, not both, otherwise it seems as if there was also a First Siege of Krujë (1466), etc... Constantine 21:43, 11 October 2010 (UTC)
That's what I think is best. Ready to move it if everyone agrees.--Gaius Claudius Nero (talk) 22:33, 11 October 2010 (UTC)
Yep, that sounds good. --Sulmues (talk) 12:29, 13 October 2010 (UTC)
I'm fine with it.--Gaius Claudius Nero (talk) 20:29, 7 October 2010 (UTC)

Few questions for Gaius

  1. "While Skanderbeg had been away, a large assault was made on Krujë from the Tirana side, but friendly fire from the Turks caused them to call off the assault." The assault was Ottoman correct? What was the "friendly" fire? And who was called to call off the assault? --Sulmues (talk) 22:32, 6 October 2010 (UTC)
Yes, it was an Ottoman assault. The friendly fire would have been cannon-fire and musketry hitting Turkish troops. Murad called off the assault.--Gaius Claudius Nero (talk) 22:37, 6 October 2010 (UTC)
Didn't know. Wikified "friendly fire" for newbies of military like me. --Sulmues (talk) 23:33, 6 October 2010 (UTC)

GA review (see here for criteria)
  1. It is reasonably well written.
a (prose):   b (MoS for lead, layout, word choice, fiction, and lists):
Change motivation in the lead to a more indisputable word or add a citation. WikiCopter (radiosortiesimagesshot down) 19:53, 9 October 2010 (UTC)
How about "Skanderbeg's exhortations?"--Gaius Claudius Nero (talk) 16:20, 10 October 2010 (UTC)
  1. It is factually accurate and verifiable.
a (references):   b (citations to reliable sources):   c (OR):
Checkup on the last two sentences of the last section. If possible, change the youtube link to a published source. Add a source to the last sentence. If you have none, use the book itself. WikiCopter (radiosortiesimagesshot down) 03:34, 10 October 2010 (UTC)
I'm not sure where to get a published source for the scene, but I will put in the movie which it is taken from. I s it fine if I keep the video link in there?--Gaius Claudius Nero (talk) 16:20, 10 October 2010 (UTC)
  1. It is broad in its coverage.
    a (major aspects):   b (focused):
  2. It follows the neutral point of view policy.
    Fair representation without bias:
Good for GA, although leans slightly toward the Albanians. You might have some trouble there at FAC. WikiCopter (radiosortiesimagesshot down) 03:34, 10 October 2010 (UTC)
  3. It is stable.
    No edit wars, etc.:
  4. It is illustrated by images, where possible and appropriate.
a (images are tagged and non-free images have fair use rationales):   b (appropriate use with suitable captions):
  5. Overall:
    Pass/Fail:
Good work, Gaius. WikiCopter (radiosortiesimagesshot down) 01:51, 11 October 2010 (UTC)
How are the fixes?--Gaius Claudius Nero (talk) 00:19, 11 October 2010 (UTC)

Date of the end of the siege

  Unresolved

"on October 26, Murad lifted the siege"

The infobox says that siege lasted til November 23.

What is the correct date of the end of the siege?--Antidiskriminator (talk) 11:24, 30 December 2011 (UTC)

Gjergj Arianiti

  • Robert Elsie (24 December 2012). A Biographical Dictionary of Albanian History. I.B.Tauris. p. 17. ISBN 978-1-78076-431-3. Retrieved 9 June 2013. Arianiti was a tactical ally ofhis son-in-law Scanderbeg in the antiOttoman uprising, but was often also his rival.... By 1449, his tactical alliance with Scanderbeg had broken down and by May 1456, having been largely outstripped by Scanderbeg and weakened by the Ottomas he pledged alliance with Venice...

I am afraid that this article is maybe not factually correct regarding participation of Arianiti. No source is cited for participation of Arianiti in this battle. If the above source is correct, Arianiti left his alliance with Skanderbeg before this battle. --Antidiskriminator (talk) 22:17, 9 June 2013 (UTC)
