Find correct name
The airport is not listed as João Paulo II anywhere.
The airport's own website calls itself simply Ponta Delgada, and has no mention of João Paulo.
Template:Regions of Portugal: statistical (NUTS3) subregions and intercommunal entities are confused; they are not the same in all regions, and should be sublisted separately in each region: intermunicipal entities are sometimes larger and split by subregions (e.g. the Metropolitan Area of Lisbon has two subregions), some intercommunal entities are containing only parts of subregions. All subregions should be listed explicitly and not assume they are only intermunicipal entities (which accessorily are not statistic subdivisions but real administrative entities, so they should be listed below, probably using a smaller font: we can safely eliminate the subgrouping by type of intermunicipal entity from this box).

In section Bacground It is claimed that the major Battle of Diu (1509) took place between the Ottoman and Portuguese fleets. But it is impossible. In 1509 Egypy, Syria and Red Sea were under Mameluk control and Mameluks were fighting against Ottomans. How can Ottoman navy be transferred to Red Sea ? (Not via Cape of Good Hope with Mediterranean galleys) Ottomans annexed these territories in 1517, during the reign of Selim I . I have seen this assertion in several other articles about Portuguese navy. Probably there is a confussion about the name Turk, for the the early Mameluks (as well as Ottomans) were etnically Turk. I corrected that, Ottomans indeed gave their support to the Mameluks but where not the major force within the coalition of muslims--Kimdime (talk) 21:06, 27 April 2010 (UTC)Reply

The actual siege description takes like one medium-length paragraph in the multi-page article. The drowning of sultan is descripted twice. Is all this intended? Yury Tarasievich (talk) 08:37, 24 November 2016 (UTC)Reply
