I took the libery to add some points to aknowledge and reinforce the historical context at the time of the defeat of Barcelona. (2.138.121.72 (talk) 03:13, 16 September 2011 (UTC))Reply

I took the libery of changing "celebrated" to "commemorated" in the last sentence. The holiday is not so much a celebration, as it does not carry a positve connotation, and I felt that commemorated was more approprate.

Fair use rationale for Image:Flag of Valencia Autonomo community.png edit

Image:Flag of Valencia Autonomo community.png is being used on this article. I notice the image page specifies that the image is being used under fair use but there is no explanation or rationale as to why its use in this Wikipedia article constitutes fair use. In addition to the boilerplate fair use template, you must also write out on the image description page a specific explanation or rationale for why using this image in each article is consistent with fair use.

Please go to the image description page and edit it to include a fair use rationale. Using one of the templates at Wikipedia:Fair use rationale guideline is an easy way to insure that your image is in compliance with Wikipedia policy, but remember that you must complete the template. Do not simply insert a blank template on an image page.

If there is other fair use media, consider checking that you have specified the fair use rationale on the other images used on this page. Note that any fair use images uploaded after 4 May, 2006, and lacking such an explanation will be deleted one week after they have been uploaded, as described on criteria for speedy deletion. If you have any questions please ask them at the Media copyright questions page. Thank you.

– There have been many sieges of Barcelona in history. The siege of 1713-14 was only one of them. 2.51.180.28 (talk) 12:03, 12 November 2012 (UTC)Reply

Assuming malformed request - that the move is for Siege of Barcelona (disambiguation). In ictu oculi (talk) 00:54, 13 November 2012 (UTC)Reply

  • Oppose. This siege was the most notable of the set. It was the final defeat for Catalonian autonomy etc. The siege in the 9-Years War might be close in terms of importance, perhaps, but I think this is definitely the default referred to in casual reference to "Siege of Barcelona." Google Scholar search was inconclusive, though, so a move is also defensible, to be sure. SnowFire (talk) 03:47, 20 November 2012 (UTC)Reply
  • Support per nom. A reader could very easily be confused, having come to the page knowing only of another seige of Barcelona. Also, in general, I think the titles (and thus the external links to the page) should give the years as a minimum level of precision. --SmokeyJoe (talk) 05:22, 28 November 2012 (UTC)Reply
  • Support -- The 1713 seige may be the most notable, but it was not the only one. No doubt, a little text could be added to the list article to enable those searching for that seige to spot which it was. Peterkingiron (talk) 20:04, 1 December 2012 (UTC)Reply
