About meeting wikipedia notability guideline

Dear Worldbruce, you have added a tag in this article that it is not meet wikipedia notability guideline. But i have a point, i have created this article from the "To do list" of wikiproject Bangladesh. If it was not met wikipedia notability guideline, then why would it place in that list? I hope you give me an answer. Thank you.- Rafi Bin Tofa (talk) 06:38, 2 April 2018 (UTC)Reply

@Rafi Bin Tofa: Thank you for trying to improve the coverage of Bangladesh-related topics. Anyone can edit Wikipedia, so anyone can add anything to Wikipedia:WikiProject Bangladesh/Article requests. I assume that Citizens for Good Governance (SHUJAN) was added to the list in good faith, perhaps the editor didn't have time to write the article themselves. Very few people watch the list, and they may not monitor it closely, so you cannot assume that there is consensus for items to be on the list. Being on the list only means that one person thought it would be a good topic, not that it meets the encyclopedia's notability guidelines.
If you create an article, it is your responsability to ensure it meets Wikipedia's policies and guidelines. If you can find reliable, in-depth sources about the organization that are independent of it, please add them to the article. If no such sources can be found, the article is likely to be deleted.
If you are looking for things to do within the scope of WikiProject Bangladesh, I recommend working on this cleanup list. As with the list of requested articles, being on the list may only mean that one person thought cleanup was necessary. Before taking action, you would want to assess the article yourself to see if you agree that action is needed. If you are particularly interested in editing articles about education in Bangladesh, then in addition to the formal policies and guidelines you may want to apply the best practices outlined in the essay Wikipedia:WikiProject Schools/Article guidelines. --Worldbruce (talk) 14:39, 2 April 2018 (UTC)Reply
Thank you for your answer and giving me some suggestions. I completely got it. If i add more sources to this article, can it be notable enough to stay in Wikipedia? Thank you in advance.- Rafi Bin Tofa (talk) 19:26, 2 April 2018 (UTC)Reply
  • You can certainly try to do so. Have a careful read through WP:RS. Right now, the only reference is to the organization's website, which counts as a WP:PRIMARY primary resource. That's not any indication of notability. --Hammersoft (talk) 22:27, 2 April 2018 (UTC)Reply
@Hammersoft: I have added more sources to this article. And the article has many sources in the internet. SHUJAN often comes to many news. So, now, can it fulfill the condition for meeting wikipedia notability guideline? Thank you in advance. - Rafi Bin Tofa (talk) 08:47, 3 April 2018 (UTC)Reply
  • Just keep in mind that passing references in a news article isn't a strong source. An article that focus on the topic are better. Can you flesh the article out some more? --Hammersoft (talk) 12:34, 3 April 2018 (UTC)Reply
I will try my best. Thank you for helping me. I will notice you after fleshing it out.- Rafi Bin Tofa (talk) 05:12, 4 April 2018 (UTC)Reply
